RBI software compared: what four vendors publish
Updated
Short answer
We compared the product pages of four vendors of RBI software. We checked each page on 12 Oct 2026. All four name API 580 and API 581. None of them publishes a price. On the pages we checked, the next step is a demo, a quote or a contact form. Reliatic offers a 14-day self-service trial.

Where the other vendors are stronger
The other vendors have longer track records. They name customers and projects on their sites. Some of them cover more of the plant, such as pipelines, safety systems or a field app.
Where Reliatic is different
Reliatic offers a 14-day self-service trial with demo data. Every approval and change goes into an append-only, hash-linked audit log. The site states what Reliatic does not do, for example on the trust page.
Ten questions to ask any RBI vendor
- Which edition of API 581 does the calculation follow?
- Which damage mechanisms does the tool calculate, and which does it only record?
- Can you see the inputs, the method and the result of each calculation?
- Does the tool keep an append-only audit log of each change and approval?
- Can you export all your data in an open format, such as CSV?
- Which systems does it connect to, for example SAP PM or IBM Maximo, and at what cost?
- What does the vendor claim: alignment, validation or certification? Who issued it?
- What is the price model: per user, per asset or per site?
- Can you test the tool on your own data before you sign?
- Which customers can you call as references?
